Team: Pre-Team (Pre Competition, 1 to 2 hour practices once or twice weekly)5 -8 years
Introductory class with emphases on strength, flexibility. Equivalent to Advance Beginning Girls. Children are invited into this class based on their natural abilities and their desire for gymnastics. Children prepare to enter our Competitive Team Program.
Girl’s Tops Program (3 to 9 hours a week)5 -10 years
Emphases on strength and flexibility. Testing program to recognize young potential elite athletes. National qualifiers are invited to USA Gymnastics National Camp.
Girl’s Level 4 Team (Requires booster club membership, 6 to 18 hours a week practice time) 6 -14 years
Pre-requisites: Must have a back handspring and approval from team coach
Children learn a series of skills which will be constructed into routines for each apparatus. This level continues working on technique and the learning of new, more complex skills as the participant’s ability allows. Gymnasts may be entered into U.S.A. Gymnastics (USAG) competitions and therefore must have a current USAG number. Competing athletes are required to participate in 2 to 3 fundraisers per year. The fall and spring seasons are comprised of 2-5 invitational meets and a sectional meet in which girls strive to attain a qualifying score for the State competition.
Girl’s Level 7-10 Optional Team (Requires booster club membership, 12 to 28 hours a week practice time) 7 -18 years
Intensive coaching is provided on all equipment with an emphasis placed on detail, form, strength and specific routines. Level 7 is the first level of optionals. Each athlete will have routines individually choregraphed for floor and beam. Each athlete will also have a bar routine designed for them, and a vault selected by their coach. Competitions are local and abroad. Optionals usually compete in the Spring with 3-5 invitational meets and a state meet in which girls strive to attain a qualifying score for the regional level. Level 10 athletes need to qualify at regionals for Nationals. All girls are required to have a current USAG number and participate in 2 to 3 mandatory fundraisers per year.
Girl’s Elite Optional Team (Requires booster club membership, 28-36 hours a week practice time) 10 -18 years
Intensive coaching is provided on all equipment with an emphasis placed on detail, form and strength.
These girls are among the few top athletes around the world training at the highest level.
Girls on a Team must be part of the Booster Club.
